The13th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair (CAF) will be held on Nov. 5-9, 2006 in China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Industries Demonstration Zone with the theme “ New countryside, New technology, New market”. Here, we warmly invite you to participate in the fair. The following is the introduction of the fair.

CAF, one of the four key-national high-tech fairs supported by China Government, is regularly held from Nov5-9 every year. It is jointly sponsored by 17 ministries such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture etc, as well as Shaanxi Provincial Government, and co-sponsored by UNESCO, World Bank and UNAPCTT etc. Each year about 1000 Chinese and international exhibitors came to participate in the fair, they are from USA, Israel, Australia, Japan, The Republic of Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and various regions of China. The visitors exceeded 500,000 people, 30,000 of which are professionals and foreigners. About 100 news media, such as Xinhua News Agency and CCTV have reported live from the fair.
Main Activities
1). Exhibition and Demonstration:
There are three exhibition halls and many demonstration exhibition areas, with nearly 100,000sq.m exhibition areas. The exhibition emphasizes agricultural produce demonstration and inspection of stockbreeding, forestry and horticultural, agricultural produce, agricultural facilities, agricultural machinery, irrigation equipment, agricultural hi-tech achievements and practical technologies.
2). Trade and Negotiation:
Hold agricultural produce and production materials fair, promotion meeting of new technology, purchasing and negotiation meeting, matching activities for buyers and suppliers, signing contract ceremony etc., invite professional visitors and exhibitors to negotiate on the spot, and the turnover is more than 10 billion.
3). Consulting and Negotiation:
Organize hundreds of agricultural science and technology experts, agricultural enterprises and representatives of well-off farmer to hold practical consultation and lectures for farmers, which involve the use of practical technology, the adjustment of industry structure and market information etc.
4). Forum Seminar:
Invite famous experts both from home and overseas to study the developing trend and policy of china’s agriculture; invite foreign farmers and China’s well-off farmers to deliver speech and communicate experiences.
5). Evaluation and Rewards:
Evaluate and award the “Houji Medal ”; match and auction cattle and cow, etc.

(2) Processing techniques of agricultural product and green food: agricultural product and by-product processing, store, preserving techniques, equipment and product, chemical-free vegetables and fruits, wild products, green food, edible fungus.
(3) Animal husbandry: the fine breed of livestock and birds, fodder and safe additive, techniques and products for preventing and controlling animal epidemic, dairy product processing and equipment.
(4) Agricultural production materials: micro-element and compound fertilizer, long and efficiency fertilizer, new regulating substance for plant growth, the technology of applying scientific fertilizer.
(5) Medicinal herb: variety of medicinal herb, planting technology, medicinal herb processing and equipment, medicinal herb product.
(6) Agricultural knowledge property right: agricultural patented product, agricultural patent industrialization, applying for intellectual property right, patent agency organization.
(7) Forestry and horticultural: new variety of forestry, flower and grass seeds, forestry product and processing technology, horticulture equipment.
(8) Irrigation and agricultural ecology: irrigation equipment, water and soil retaining technology, soil-protection technology.
(9) Agricultural machine and equipment: reaping machine, transportation vehicle, agricultural machine and tool, agricultural product processing machine, horticultural machine, agricultural machine accessory.
(10) Biological engineering and information technology ： bio-pesticide and fertilizer, application and technical & scientific farming.
(11) Compost agriculture： multi-purpose utilization of marsh gas energy, comprehensive utilization of straw, recycling of agricultural discarded product, comprehensive utilization technology of animal manure.
