CHANGCHUN, April 14 (Xinhuanet) -- The first Jilin-Northeast Asia Trade Expo is scheduled to be held in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, September 2nd through the 6th this year, its organizing committee announced here Thursday.

The trade expo will be co-organized by China's Ministry of Commerce, the office in charge of revitalizing northeast China and other old industrial bases, and the Jilin Provincial Government.

The expo, with a theme of "Opportunity, Exchange, Cooperation and Development," will be divided into three parts: commodity display, investment talks and international symposiums, the organizer said.

Products on display will be famous, name-brand and top quality products made in various parts of China and in the five northeast Asian nations: namely the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Russia, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and China.

Three international symposiums are expected to be held during the expo. The forum on economic and trade cooperation in northeastAsia will invite economic and trade ministers in northeast Asia tomake speeches. The symposium on the development of the Tumen River region will allure high-ranking officials of the five northeast Asian countries. The third one is the Fifth East Asia Forum (EATOF).

The trade expo serves the purpose of building a platform for the mutual benefit, cooperation, competition and opening to each other among the five northeast Asian countries, the organizer said.
