The annual congress for the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) is taking place at Dubai's Grand Hyatt Hotel from the 18th to the 22nd of October. The theme of this congress is "Economic Mobilisation Through Transport Logistics". More than 1000 companies in the freight-forwarding sector have signed up to attend the meeting.

JCtrans will take its GCP members to the congress. As the media supporter for last year’s Shanghai FIATA Congress, JCtrans has a great deal of experience and expertise. This year’s congress will surely be an invaluable opportunity for Chinese freight forwarders to be known around the world.

“Such meetings promote networking opportunities for the member countries and also give us the chance to discuss issues pertaining to the industry such as security issues, transportation of dangerous goods, new documentation, or the modification and implementation of new rules", said Capt Ghafoor, head of Dubai National Association of Freight Logistics.

“Congress delegates will get an opportunity to visit the Dubai Logistics Center site and see first-hand the sheer scale and magnitude of this project that so far they may only have heard about,” said Michael Proffitt, CEO, DLC. “Dubai World Central International Airport's (JXB) runway construction should be nearly complete by the time of the Conference and FIATA members will return home having witnessed history being made.”

The FIATA World Congress 2008 will be held in Vancouver, Canada from the 22nd – 26th of September.
