Welcoming visitors to transport logistic China 2008 at the opening ceremony, Eugen Egetenmeir, deputy managing director of organizer Messe Munchen International, pointed out that this is the third time the event has been held in Shanghai.
"I think we can be very pleased that the show has developed extremely well," Egetenmeir told the assembled delegates and visitors to the show.
"We welcome this year more than 430 exhibitor to the show," he added. "Compared to the last event in 2006, this means an increase of more than 40 percent.
"So, the show has developed well and developed into the leading show, not only in China, but in Asia in total," he pointed out. "We are pleased that the show has become more international, but we are also pleased that it has found a tremendous increase in the Chinese domestic customers."
Egetenmeir noted: "More than 120 of our exhibitors come from China, and this shows that the Chinese logistics industry also regards this show as their show."
