Caterpillar Inc.has announced that it will establish a logistics centre in Waco, Texas. From this location the company will distribute its machine work tools and related attachments. The 975,000-square-foot facility will provide Caterpillar additional capacity to serve a growing business segment, and is expected to create 40 jobs and generate $7.9 million in capital investments by 2010.
Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc. will establish and operate the centralised distribution facility to serve multiple Caterpillar divisions. Tonnage originating in the United States, Mexico, Europe and Japan will be distributed to prime product locations and directly to customers, resulting in faster deliveries.
"This focus facility further demonstrates Caterpillar's commitment to the work tool business," said Gary Larimore, Cat Logistics Work Tool Logistics Manager. "It enhances our dealers' efforts to deliver machine tools to customers when they need them, and where they need them."
