Construction of the world's largest shipyard has begun on Shanghai's Changxing Island.

The Changxing Shipbuilding Base will have a quay length of more than 4,500 meters, a state-of-the-art shipyard with a handling capacity of 500,000 deadweight tons and will be able to repair 200 ships a year, Xinhua reports.
