The U.S. government on Monday accused 63 major trading partners of erecting unfair barriers to American exports.
The annual report, delivered to Congress on March 30 by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, lays out "successes and ongoing efforts to eliminate trade barriers and unfair trade practices" faced by the U.S. exporters.
"A significant amount of work remains to knock down trade barriers and ensure that American exporters have new economic opportunities across the globe," said U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab in a statement.
The 2007 National Trade Estimate report accused the European Union of erecting trade-distorting subsidies to aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus, saying the Bush administration will continue to press its WTO case against Europe's subsidies to Airbus.
The report also criticized China for so-called "government subsidies" which it claimed have given Chinese companies unfair advantages over American companies.
