SHENYANG, March 02, SinoCast -- A 2.946-million-ton throughput was achieved in the Port of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, this January, rising by year-on-year 15% and the highest record in history.
A 39,030 TEUs throughput was made, surging by 39.5% year on year and also the most in history.
In the month, 256 ships arrived at the port, 80 ships more than that in the period in 2005. The prosperity of it is attributed to the relaying export of gasoline, the convergence of foreign-traded crops as well as the launching of the berth for 502B oil products chemical and the project for modern logistics. For instance, half of the crops handled in the ports in Northeastern China were made in the Jinzhou port.
During the weeklong Chinese New Year holiday, 51 ships entered the port, 31 ships more than the same period of 2006. Four 30,000-ton-capacity ships for crops transfer arrived there. A total throughput of 443,000 tons were achieved, CNY 203,000 tons more than the same period of last year.
