Taiwan obtained US$ 35 billion trade surplus against mainland

Taiwan has obtained a trade surplus of US$ 35.08 billion against the mainland from January to November of 2006, an increase of 7.1 per cent from the same period of 2005, said the official economic department of Taiwan on January 2007.

According to the statistics, Taiwan's total trade volume with the Mainland is up to US$80.4 billion from January to November of 2006, increased by 15.8 per cent from the same period of 2005.

The amount of exports to the mainland was US$57.74 billion, up 13 per cent from the same period of 2005, which made up of 28.2 per cent of the total amounts of exports of Taiwan. The amount of imports from the mainland was US$22.26 billion, up 23.7 per cent from the same period of 2005, which made up of 12.2 per cent of the total amounts of imports of Taiwan.
