The export value of the Polish automotive branch reached 10.27 billion euros during the first nine months of 2006, 2.08 billion euros more than in the same period of 2005, the PAP news agency reported on Thursday.
The branch exported products worth 1.33 billion euros in September alone. It was a record high monthly result, higher by 21. 34 percent than that achieved in September 2005 and by as much as 54 percent than in August 2006, according to data of the Polish Automotive Chamber (PIM) quoted by the report.
Over 87 percent of the branch's exports were directed to the European Union which for years has been the key receiver of Polish automotive products. Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and France are the biggest importers.
The biggest share in the branch's exports went to passenger cars and delivery vans, with its value reaching 3.98 billion euros. Cars were chiefly sent to Italy, Germany and France.
The second biggest element of this export was parts and components, with a value of 2.76 billion euros, 27 percent more than in the same period of 2005.
The export of diesel engines reached the value of 2.1 billion euros.
Over 94 percent of engines manufactured in Poland is exported to EU countries, chiefly to Germany and Italy.
