BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Thursday said he hoped Nokia could increase investment in China and push forward cooperation with Chinese companies.
Zeng made the remarks in a meeting with Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, president and CEO of Nokia. Both sides exchanged views on the development of China's communication industry.
Zeng said he hoped Nokia could carry out research on key technologies and products with its Chinese partners, and participate in the stipulation of standards for the communication industry.
He also encouraged the communications giant to further strengthen cooperation with Chinese companies, better adapt to the development of the Chinese market and realize common development with China's information industry.
China, with its fast-growing economy, increasing consumption and smooth development of its information industry, has a large market full of potential, Zeng said.
He added the Chinese government would encourage multinational corporations to enhance cooperation with Chinese companies in research and development.
