The International Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association of New Orleans (IFFCBANO) presented their "Award of Excellence" to New Orleans Cold Storage (NOCS) at their 36th annual International Trade Symposium held in Point Clear, AL earlier this month.
The association honored NOCS's commitment to New Orleans over its 127 years of operation, including NOCS's decision to stay after Hurricane Katrina despite damage to their facilities. "NOCS had opportunities to move to other ports but they decided to rebuild in New Orleans," IFFCBANO said. "This commitment to the success of not only the port community in New Orleans but to the whole trade and transportation industry in Louisiana is why NOCS was chosen to receive the 2014 Award of Excellence." Accepting the award on behalf of NOCS was Mark Blanchard, President.
Chaired by past president, Sandra Frazier of J.W. Allen & Company, the symposium's program offered presentations by many respected individuals from a wide range of the trade community. Among the eclectic group of speakers were personnel from organizations such as Gene Seroka, President of American President Line, David Camp, VP Sales for Staple Cotton, Colby Cooper, Chief of Staff for the City of Mobile, Customs and Border Protection to name a few.
