DB Schenker Award 2014 endowed with EUR 15,000 International logistics prize

One of the most important international prizes in the logistics industry is entering the next round. Up until July 31, 2014, young scientists can apply for the DB Schenker Award 2014 by submitting their dissertation, habilitation thesis or a comparable academic paper from the logistics, transport and transportation systems areas, or from other areas if they have a particular reference to logistics.
In the academic world, the DB Schenker Award is currently one of the most prestigious international awards for logistics specialists. The Award is endowed with EUR 10,000 for the prize winner and EUR 5,000 for the supervising professor.
"In addition to verifying that the applications meet the scientific requirements, the Board of Trustees will assess them based on practical relevance, level of innovation and the benefits for the environment and society," said Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board at Deutsche Bahn Stiftung and Member of the Management Board at DB Mobility Logistics AG responsible for the Transportation and Logistics Division.
The Deutsche Bahn Stiftung foundation will be announcing the DB Schenker Award for the first time this year. Deutsche Bahn Stiftung was founded in 2013 in order to consolidate and expand Deutsche Bahn's charitable corporate social responsibility initiatives. Its promotional activities will focus on the fields of education and culture, integration and welfare, climate and nature protection, and humanitarian aid.
