Asia Australia Discussion Agreement levies US$550/TEU charge for bunker

Member lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) will levy a US$550 per TEU and $1,100 per FEU charge on dry and reefer cargo from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to Australia starting May 17, according to Shipping Gazette.
Reflecting recent decrease in the price of oil at Hong Kong and South Korea, member lines of AADA wish says that in accordance with the established review procedures, the Bunker Surcharge level for shipments from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to ports in Australia is to be adjusted.
Customers requiring further information concerning the Bunker Surcharge are advised to contact the member lines, said the AADA statement.
AADA is a voluntary discussion forum of 19 ocean carriers serving the trade from north and east Asia to Australia. Members include ANL Singapore, APL, CSCL, Cosco, Evergreen, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, Maersk, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL, PIL, Sinotrans, TS Lines and Yang Ming.
