Built by South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) will now be assigned to the CKYH 'PM1' pendulum service connecting the Mediterranean, the Far East and the US west coast.
The seven vessels are to be split between Seaspan (three vessels) and Greater China Intermodal Investments (GCI) (four vessels) at 10-year charters by Hanjin with an option for two additional years.
The Hanjin Ami is owned by Marshall Island-based investment vehicle GCI, established by Seaspan with the Carlyle Group.
The vessel will join its sister ship the Hanjin Jungil delivered in April to be followed by the Hanjin Tabul in a couple of weeks time, according to Shipping Gazette.
