The new logistics hub in Zwevegem is the first DB Schenker facility in Belgium to be awarded the A-level certificate of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA). “Our efforts to offer our customers a safe and secure facility for handling their goods was rewarded by the external certification body Det Norske Veritas (DNV) with the highest level certificate,” states Ulrich Pütz, Managing Director of Schenker nv. “The excellent score of nearly 90 per cent confirms our security concept which has been implemented in line with our comprehensive, precise and consistent planning.”
TAPA certification is recognized worldwide as one of the most stringent independent security certifications in the field of logistics. TAPA Freight Security rules include instructions regarding buildings, equipment and processes with the aim of ensuring the safety of goods while the goods are in the care of the logistics provider. The accreditation therefore involved rigorous auditing of DB Schenker’s security infrastructure and warehouse facility in Zwevegem.
