The OOCL new building is to join the G6's Asia-North Europe Loop 6, following the OOCL Korea, delivered a month earlier, reported Alphaliner.
Separately, China Shipping Container Lines (Hong Kong), a listed subsidiary of CSCL, took delivery of the CSCL Autumn and CSCL Boa Sea, the fourth and fifth of eight 10,036 TEU ships ordered in 2011 for US$94.3 million apiece.
The order was split between two shipyards, Hooding Honshu Shipbuilding (Group) and Dalai Shipbuilding Heavy Industries. An option to build four more box ships was not exercised by CSCL and lapsed in April 2012.
Both new buildings are to join their three sister ships on Cecil's America-Asia Container service (AAC), over the course of upsizing from 8,500 TEU to 10,000 TEU vessels. Evergreen, United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and Yang Ming take slots on this service.
