SINGAPORE's PSA International Pte Ltd handled 61.81 million TEU at its ports worldwide in 2013, an increase of 2.9 per cent over 2012 with its flagship terminals in the Lion City contributing 32.24 million TEU, up 3.1 per cent.
Last year the total throughput of PSA terminals outside Singapore rose by 2.7 per cent compared to 2012 to 29.57 million TEU.
Group CEO Tan Chong Meng said: "2013 has been an exciting and challenging year for PSA. The group invested in and upgraded our facilities and equipment, stretched ourselves to handle ever-larger mega ships, and exceeded the exacting demands our customers have placed on us."
He said that the group plans in 2014 to continue upgrading its terminals globally, and make suitable investments in new growth markets.
