Hapag-Lloyd has announced that the OOCL Belgium, on voyage 17W10, has suffered propeller damage and will be delayed on Hapag-Lloyd's SKCS1, the St. Lawrence Container Service, route 1, and OOCL's corresponding GEX1, the Canadian Gateway Express, route 1.
The container ship was recently stuck in heavy ice on the Strait of Belle Isle in eastern Canada on its way from Montreal to England.
Hapag-Lloyd said arrangements are being made for the vessel to dry-dock in Bremerhaven, Germany, and the extent of the delay will depend on details found during the dry-dock stay.
Antwerp, Belgium, and Bremerhaven will be called for discharge only. Le Havre, France, imports will be discharged at Bremerhaven for further connection with the next available vessel.
