French line raises rates again

Shipping line CMA CGM has announced a second rate increase in a week on its European services.

The carrier said it will increase rates on its Asia to northern Europe and Asia to Mediterranean services by US$200 per teu from 1 September.

"In a continued effort to provide reliable and efficient services, the CMA CGM group has decided to restore freight rates in the Asia to North Europe and Asia to Mediterranean trades to a more sustainable level," it said.

On Tuesday (18 August) IFW reported that CMA CGM planned to increase rates on its services between India and Pakistan, and Europe.
