Karachi-Shipping activity remained active at the Port where two ships schedule to load, offload containers and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Fotco oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile four more ships carrying Containers and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 70% on Thursday where a total of seven ships CV Saudi Abha, M.V Captain Markos, MV Nova Noor, M.T Xue Song, M.T AI-Salam-II, M.T Chemstar Moon and MV Pas Dignity were occupied at PQA berths to load, offload containers, cement, palm oil, diesel oil, phosphoric acid and coal respectively during the report period.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where cargo volume of 71,743 tonnes comprising 63,249 tonnes imports and 8,494 tonnes exports Inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 312 Containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.

Four ships MV S.D Glory, M.T Chemstar Moon, M.T Xue song and C.V Saudi Abha sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while another ship M.T AI-Salam-lI is expected to sail on Friday.

Five ships C.V APL Almandine, C.V London Senator, M.T Jo Oak, M.T Theresa Blossom and MV Pleione carrying containers, phosphoric acid, palm oil and wheat are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, MW-1 and MW-4 respectively on Friday. Two Container ships Maersk Missouri and London Senator are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day while a chemicals carrier M.T Diamond Park is due to arrive on Saturday.-APP
