Schenker announced the appointment of a new board member for Sales at Railion Deutschland AG.
This is in addition to newly appointed Karsten Sachsenroeder's position as head of the Construction Materials, Industrial and Consumer Goods Market unit.
As a new board member he succeeds the chairman of the Management Board in this position, Klaus Kremper, who runs the sales division in a dual capacity, a company statement said.
Mr Sachsenroeder has spent over 15 years working for a variety of international logistics companies with responsibility for sales and strategic tasks, including central key account management for Europe with DPD.
A qualified engineer, Mr Sachsenroeder joined parent company Deutsche Bahn's rail freight team in 2004, where he initially took over the management of the Construction Materials Market unit, and later the Consumer Goods Market unit which was added in 2005. The two market units were subsequently combined in 2007 under his leadership. He is also responsible for Rail Logistics and Forwarding in the Land Transport Business unit.
