Hong Kong played host to Sino-International Freight Forwarders Conference for the first time when the fifth meeting of the annual event was held from June 21st to 24th in the Asia World - Expo near the Hong Kong International Airport.

The fifth annual meeting jointly organized by China International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFA) and World Cargo Alliance Family of Logistic Networks (WCAF), attracted 1,450 delegates from 808 companies, including 579 delegates from 342 Chinese companies and 721 delegates from 466 overseas companies, a statement of CIFA said.

Agenda of the three-day conference was nearly the same as in the past, when participants can have one-to-one meetings to find their potential partners.

Participants have been increasing year on year from 530 participants in the 2004 conference held in Beijing to 1,122 and 1,320 delegates respectively in the 2007 and 2008 meetings held in Guangzhou, the statement said.
