Hapag-Lloyd brand retention no longer condition of sale: DPA

2008-7-3

TUI, owner of Hapag-Lloyd container line, is willing to sell the brand name, dropping an earlier intention of retaining it when it sells the company, sources told Deutsche Press Argentur.

The Financial Times Deutschland had reported earlier that TUI was planning to retain licensing rights of Hapag-Lloyd, citing the sales prospectus for its shipping subsidiary.

But sources told the DPA news agency that the sales prospectus did not rule out a sale of the brand name when it plans to sell the company as demanded by its stockholders.
