MSC, CCT hold vendors' seminar in Shenzhen

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Chiwan Container Terminal Co. Ltd (CCT) have jointly held a vendors' seminar in Shenzhen, which attracted more than 150 delegates from the shipping, freight forwarding and logistics industries.

Attendees included senior officers from Shekou Customs and Shekou China Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ); senior CCT executives; the general manager of China Merchants Holdings International's Business Management Department, Shao Jian Qiang; and the deputy general manager of China Merchant Maritime & Logistics (Shenzhen) Dong Xuedai.

The inaugural address was made by CCT managing director Zheng Shao Ping, followed by a company representative's speech about its terminal facilities, GPS system, triple-lift quayside cranes, traffic connections, customs environment, as well as value-added logistics solutions.

In a Question and Answer segment, details were provided about customs policies and the customs environment in mainland China, as well as trucking services. Thereafter, delegates accompanied a tour of the terminal equipped with triple-lift quayside cranes.

A joint statement said that the aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about the industry among CCT customers, and to "enhance the cooperation between CCT and MSC to build a win-win relationship."
