Geodis Wilson, the forwarding division of French European logistics group Geodis, has acquired Oughtred & Harrison Shipping, thus strengthening its UK operation.
Geodis Wilson expects the acquisition to increase its sea freight exports and extend its worldwide reach in China and the Benelux, reports the UK's Transport Intelligence.
O&H Shipping is an air and sea freight forwarder with 100 employees, mainly based in northern England, but also in Belgium and China. Serving more than 1,900 customers, O&H will deliver about GBP35 million (US$68.7 million) to Geodis revenues.
"The O&H acquisition is an important step in our long-term growth ambition and strengthens our presence in the market," said Geodis Wilson UK managing director Stuart Innes.
According to a Geodis Wilson statement, the combined businesses at current trading levels will generate over GBP90 million in sales.
