Maruba, Hapag, CSCL join in Far East-West Africa service

2008-6-13

Maruba and Hapag-Lloyd will team up with CSCL on the Far East-West Africa trade, on a service that will include a Durban call from mid-July, reports AXS-Alphaliner News.

Using five vessels in the 2,100-2,500-TEU range, the three shipping companies will commence a fortnightly service linking Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shekou and SE Asia through Port Kelang to Durban, Tema, Lome and Lagos.

Hapag-Lloyd and Maruba join CSCL, already with its twice monthly sailing WAX FE-West African service, as newcomers to the trade lane.

CSCL and Maruba also offer an extra Durban-Far East eastbound string in their SEAS 2 service, one of two loops which are to replace an existing FE-ECSA service.
