DHL-Sinotrans has announced opening of its first domestic retail flagship store in Shanghai, China, Logistics Week reported.
The move is the first step DHL-Sinotrans has taken into the express delivery service retail market.
The store is located in the central business district of Shanghai with a floor area of 220.93 square metres. It mainly serves individuals and companies nearby, offering them greater convenience and higher value-added services.
The shop offers full range of DHL-Sinotrans' services and is equipped with a special operation room for package sorting. Customers can go to the store to send packages by themselves or ask for door-to-door delivery service.
DHL-Sinotrans is not the first to set foot in the domestic express retail market. Express giants FedEx have long been in this market while UPS also expanded into it in 2007, said the report.
