Grand Alliance lines Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL will later this month return to Thamesport in the United Kingdom with three transatlantic services.
The alliance consolidated all calls in the United Kingdom to Southampton Container Terminals in September 2006. The three services returning to Thamesport are the Pacific Atlantic Express (PAX), the Gulf Atlantic Express (GAX) and the Gulf of Mexico Express (GMX).
The return of these three transatlantic services is a further boost for shippers using Thamesport," said Chris Lewis, chief executive officer of Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd., owners of Thamesport. "The addition of these routes means that customers will be able to benefit from the port's links to the U.S., as well as to the buoyant markets of the Far East."
