APL reports box volume and revenue increases of 13pc - 14pc

Singapore's APL, the container arm of Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), has enjoyed year-on-year double-digit revenue increases during March, ending April 4, according to the latest operational NOL update.

Year to date, container throughput is up 14 per cent while the average freight rate is up 16 per cent, according to American Shipper.

The company lifted 396,600 TEU, 13 per cent more than in March last year. Average rates were US$1,465 per TEU, also up 13 per cent over the same 2007 period, said NOL.
