The secretary of China Container Industry Association (CCIA), Shi Yanqiu, recently predicted that world container demand will drop 10 to 20 per cent or even more in 2008 if another unexpected economic crisis occurs, Xinhua reported.
According to Ms Shi, global container demand reached its peak in 2007 when the world's container sales volume reached 3.92 million TEU, 3.75 million TEU of which were produced in China.
