French logistics group Geodis Wilson have announced that from now on Philippe Gilbert and Peter Nevhagen will jointly head the global Freight Management Division.
Both individuals are taking responsibility as executive vice presidents, succeeding Jeff Hoogesteger in his CEO role. "Since freight management plays a truly significant role in the sustainable and profitable growth strategy for the whole group, we will move forward the remarkable success story of our division," said Mr Gilbert.
By merging Geodis Overseas and TNT Freight Management in 2007, and due to the recent takeover of German transport specialist Rohde & Liesenfeld, Geodis Wilson now has 5,500 employees, based in almost 250 offices in more than 50 countries all around the globe.
Peter Nevhagen and Philippe Gilbert will also continue in their existing roles as chief marketing officer and chief operations officer, a company statement said. "This will ensure a direct and efficient link between corporate management and business development," said Mr Nevhagen.
Jean Louis Demeulenaere, the new chairman of Geodis Wilson SAS said, "It is my full conviction that our new division management structure will perfectly support our ambitious business goals."
One of these objectives will be to further strengthen the vertical market approach of Geodis Wilson, especially in the sectors of automotive, pharmaceutical, aviation, marine logistics, retail and fast moving consumer goods, oil and gas, high tech and luxury goods.
