ICTSI buys more gear for flagship terminal

2008-5-12

Intermodal Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) says it recently took delivery of 10 Terberg prime movers and two new Stinis auto twist spreaders for its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT).

The new Terberg prime mover YT 80 is manufactured by Sime Darby Industries, while the new Stinis auto spreader is manufactured by SSEA, which specialises in spreaders and lifting equipment, a company release said.

The auto twist spreader is a modified version of the existing semi-automatic spreader, and is unique with its gravity lever locking principle. The Stinis auto spreader is designed to be used with conventional ship and harbour cranes, and is ideal for swivel-energised cranes.

Already in operation, ICTSI said the new equipment is helping the group respond to the increasing volume at MICT.

Based in the Philippines, ICTSI operates and develops ports and terminals in 11 countries on four continents.
