Taiwan's Evergreen Line is starting a new service linking Japan and the US west coast, called the Japan-America Shuttle service (JAS).
"The new shuttle service will offer more port coverage in Japan than current coverage of transpacific services and ensure more stable service by focusing on the Japan market only," a company statement said.
The fixed-day weekly service will deploy four 2,800-3,000 TEU vessels. Sailings are scheduled to commence on May 14 with the sailing of the Trieste from Osaka.
Ports of call on the 28 days rotation are: Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo Los Angeles and back to Osaka.
