ESPMC-WITASS reducing Puerto Cabello congestion charge

Container lines in the ESPMC-WITASS conference, covering the Europe/Caribbean/South America trade, will lower their congestion surcharge for Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, effective April 1.

The revised surcharge, applicable to both northbound and southbound shipments, will be 40 euros/$59 per TEU (from 64 euros/$89 per TEU) and 80 euros/$118 per FEU (from 128 euros/$178 per FEU).

The conference said the surcharge would be charged prepaid together with the ocean freight, and that lines will withdraw the surcharge when port conditions return to normal.

ESPMC-WITASS member lines are CMA CGM, CSAV, Hamburg Sud, Hapag- Lloyd, "K" Line and Container Cargo Lines Inc.
