LA port to consider clean air proposals

2008-3-18

The Port of Los Angeles today posted its final recommendations for a Port of Los Angeles Clean Truck Programme (CTP).

The programme is designed to achieve long-term sustainability, accelerate the replacement of high-polluting trucks with cleaner trucks, and provide market incentives to encourage private investment and create a capitalised, asset-based short-haul trucking or "drayage" system at the nation's largest container port.

The Los Angeles Harbor Commission will consider the proposed Clean Truck Programme recommendations at its March 20 special board meeting.
