2008-3-14

Hapag-Lloyd is reducing staff at some U.S. offices and moving employees to other offices as part of a corporate restructuring.

A report in the Virginia Pilot newspaper said the German container carrier is downsizing an office in Virginia Beach, and that offices will be downsized or closed in Tampa and Corte Madera, Calif. It was not known how many jobs would be eliminated.

Last month Maersk Line announced plans to reduce or relocate service and staff jobs at several locations around the country.
