COSCO Pacific to up stake in Chinese container maker

2008-3-12

Terminal operator COSCO Pacific said Thursday it would likely increase its stake in container manufacturer China International Marine Containers from 20.5 percent to 25.3 percent.
In a statement, the Chinese company said the move would "strengthen the (COSCO Pacific) Group's capability in container related businesses, improve the allocation of resources of the group and contribute to the continued development of the group's businesses."

COSCO Pacific is part of the COSCO Group, which also includes its own container-manufacturing subsidiary, COSCO Container Industries.
