In 2007, state ports of Ukraine (19 commercial seaports) handled 123.73 million tonnes (+9.9%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. In the reported period the throughput grew by 11 million tonnes against 3.4 million tonnes in 2006. Export continued to decrease (-3.4%, year-on-year).
However transit grew by 19.5% in 2007 to 51.9 million tonnes (+11.7% in 2006). Transit accounts for 42% of totalthroughput (38.5% in 2006). Import grew by over 30% to 12.5 million tonnes (against 14.2-percent growth in 2006). |
