The 10,062-TEU Hyundai Brave, the biggest containership of Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), completed its maiden voyage recently when it called in at the Port of Hamburg.
Built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, the ship was deployed to serve the Far East-Europe SCX service of the shipping consortium New World Alliance, a statement of Port of Hamburg said.
The Hyundai Brave steamed out of Ningbo January 17 and called at Shanghai, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zeebrugge and stopped in at Thamesport before reaching its Hamburg turnaround point at the HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA), the press statement said.
The ship left Hamburg February 16 and headed for Singapore via Rotterdam as SCX also serves the Dutch port on its eastbound leg, the statement said.
The megaship of 339 metres in length and 45.60 metres abeam, has a maximum draught of 14.50 metres, the statement added.
