Four consortia to submit proposals to build, design Panama Canal locks

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has released its Request for Proposal (RFP) concerning the "design-build" of new locks that will form a crucial part of the US$5.25 billion plan to double the canal's capacity.

Following the release of the RFP, the four global consortia that have been selected by the authorities in the early stages of bidding. Deadline for proposals is August 2008.
