Long-Time engineer Tom Kress was recently appointed by the Port of Tacoma as senior project and contract administration manager responsible for project design, construction inspection, surveying and materials testing.
Mr Kress brings more than 30 years experience working for public agencies and private engineering consultants in the areas of marine engineering, transportation, municipal engineering and land development.
Before joining the port, he was a project manager with Federal Way, Washington state-based BERGER/ABAM Engineers' Domestic Waterfront Facilities Group.
A licensed professional engineer in Washington, Oregon and California, Mr Kress holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University (1984).
The Port of Tacoma handles two million TEU annually.
