Poland's Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa shipyard has laid a keel of a new containership for Russia's Fesco, reports Russia's Financial Information Service, based in Novosibirsk, Siberia, Russia's third largest city.
Under the work schedule the first containership from the Polish series will join the Fesco fleet this summer, reported the news agency. Contracts at Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa include three 1.730 TEU-ships and four 3,091-TEU vessels. All are expected to join the fleet by 2010, bringing it up to a 50,000-TEU capacity.
