Hunan imports surges 91pc in first 10 months

Import cargo volume of Hunan province surged 91 per cent in the first 10 months of this year to 4.47 million tons, Xinhua reported.

Exports of the central province increased 18 per cent to 5.14 million during the 10 months, adding the total foreign trade volume to 9.61 million, an increase of 44 per cent year on year.

Imports and exports of Hunan are mainly handled by the two airports of Changsha Huanghua and Zhangjiajie Hehua, the two river ports of Changsha Xianing and Yueyang Chenglingji and the two highway customs checkpoints of Chenzhou and Yueyang, the report said.

Among the above, Changsha Ningxia port and Yueyang Chenglingji port handled most cargo. By the end of October, Chenglingji, the Yangtze River port, handled 2.3 million tons of foreign trade cargo via Shanghai, the report said.
