Evergreen Marine Corporation will invest another $9.2 million in Taipei Port, boosting its stake in the port to 36.99%, the company said in a statement.

The container port, located at the mouth of the Danshuei River at the northern tip of Taiwan, is currently being built by a joint venture of Evergreen Marine, Wan Hai Lines Ltd and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp.

Evergreen Marine's latest move will increase its investment at the port to about $19.3 million.

When fully completed in 2014, the container port will have seven container wharfs and storage facilities.
