2007-12-11

The municipal government of Pearl River Delta city of Foshan has signed strategic co-operation agreement with Wal-Mart and GS1 Hong Kong, a local article numbering association, to develop a radio frequency identification (RFID) label production base, Xinhua reported.

The Foshan government signed the co-operation agreement with GS1 Hong Kong in June. The organisation is drafting a development plan for Foshan's RFID label industry for the upcoming five years.

According to the plan, an RFID manufacturing base, a test centre, a demonstration centre and an application centre will be built in Foshan.
