Intermarine adjusts bunker, canal surcharges, adds underdeck charge

Breakbulk, project and heavy lift carrier agent Intermarine said Tuesday it is revising bunker and Panama Canal surcharges on all its services to and from South America and the Caribbean, effective Dec. 1.

The company is also adding a new underdeck cargo surcharge on cargoes for which merchants require underdeck stowage.

The new bunker surcharges between the United States and the North and East coasts of South America and Caribbean are $32 weight/measure for breakbulk, $425 per TEU, and $675 per FEU.

For the U.S./West Coast South America, the bunker charge is $32 weight/measure, while container charges remain at $340 TEU and $525 per FEU.

For U.S./Mexico service, the surcharges will be $26.75 weight/measure for breakbulk cargoes, $305 per TEU, and $490 per FEU.

Panama Canal surcharges are $7.50 weight/measure for breakbulk, while containers remain at $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU.

The underdeck stowage surcharge is $10 weight/measure and applies to all South America services as well as U.S./Mexico service.
