ABP ploughs $9.3m into Exxtor terminal

2007-11-6

Container-handling capacity at Exxtor Terminal, located at Associated British Ports' Port of Immingham, has received a major boost following ABP's decision to implement a US$9.3 million scheme to develop the terminal.

Two rubber-tyred gantry cranes are being purchased to support the two units already in use at the terminal. The scheme will also finance resurfacing work at the terminal to accommodate new RTG runways and to create a storage area for empty containers around the perimeter of the main terminal. The terminal's computerised yard-management system will also be upgraded.
