2007-11-29

China United Lines, together with Beibu Gulf International Port Group, has agreed to upgrade capacity on the south-China- Vietnam service via Guangxi province's port of Fangchenggang in the Beibu Gulf.

The south China-Vietnam-Guangxi service called SVG-I was launched in August, using a 599-TEU ship. Next month, the carrier will start another service called SVG-II from south China to Guangxi then to Vietnam, using the same size of ship.

Once the service becomes operational, China United will have 10 monthly services calling to the Port of Fangchenggang.

Under the agreement, China United and Beibu Gulf International Port Group will also join in other services and investments in the port and in its logistics facilities.
