NCC to invest $350 mln into development of First Container Terminal by 2012

By 2012, investments of National Container Company (NCC) into development of First Container Terminal (FCT CJSC, St. Petersburg), RBC reports quoting Egor Govorukhin, vice-President of National Container Company (owner of FCT) as saying at the IV international conference Freight-2007: Container Transportation in Russia and the Neighbouring States being held in St. Petersburg. Mr. Govorukhin also said the sum is to be spent for replacement of 6 STS-crnes and purchase of a new one, as well as for construction of a new 240-meter long berth and land reclamation (under support of RosMorPort).

First Container Terminal (FCT CJSC) is a specialized container terminal located at the port of St. Petersburg. It is managed by the National Container Company. Today FCT is the leader among the companies handling container cargoes in Russia and in the region of the Baltic Sea. FCT applies modern loading equipment for handling large containers as well as unique information system for terminal management.


National Container Company (NCC) is the leading Russian operator of container terminals. It holds leading position at the market of stevedoring services. NCC is owned in equal shares by First Quantum and FESCO transport group (FESCO¡¯s control stock is owned by Industrial Investors Group).
